Magic Town – The First Virtual World Based on Stories for Children Launches in Beta

The Magic Town Beta site launch

3… 2…1… blast off! After months of preparation, Magic Town has launched in Beta.  The first virtual world based on picture books and stories for young children is live!

Right now you can register for Magic Town using your Facebook login. Registering by email will be coming soon, as will lots of other features, such as adding profiles for more than one child, selecting the character houses and stories they see, and getting personalised reports about how your child uses Magic Town. Not too far down the road, you will also be able to use Magic Town on your iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.

If you register now, you’ll be able to create a child profile and dive into Magic Town. After signing in, your child will meet Magic Town’s guide Max and Louis the Storyteller who will present a new story every day. As your child visits Magic Town, he or she will see new characters’ houses pop up across the landscape. These houses hold the stories and accompanying games.

Everyone will have temporary access to a free story every day, as well as to the houses where Aesop’s fables and Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tales live.  But… if you subscribe, you’ll be able to keep the free story each day plus get full access to all of the stories in Magic Town.

So sign in to Magic Town. Visit character’s houses. Explore stories. And please let us know what you and your children think by contacting us at contact@magictown.com. We’d look forward to hearing from you.

See you soon in Magic Town… Where Stories Live.
